When a baby is born, its body is fragile, sensitive, pure & clean in its form. As they consume mother’s milk, they are fit & healthy. Once, they grow up their body is exposed to many toxins due to consumption of unhealthy food. For example, when we go to buy fruits & vegetables, we prefer the organic ones as they are being kept away from chemical pesticides & fertilizers. Similarly, our body becomes stays organic when consumed right kind of food. It is very essential to nourish it healthy & nutritious food from beginning itself.

The scenario of today’s eating habits of kids is not hidden from parents. They have habit of eating outside junk food a lot. They consider it as a normal food wherein salads or soups is like a medicine to them. The irregular timings about consuming food leads to cravings at unusual time. Their schedule is so disrupted due to this. Nowadays, due to fast paced lives parents opt for processed food rather than fresh. Some follow any random diet chart from misleading or unauthentic source. Some have misconceptions with diet like if you eat less then you lose weight quickly. In reality, when you eat less your body gets weak and in turn might lead to gain more weight which is difficult to reduce. In love of our kids, we provide them what they ask for or crave for food without paying attention if it is healthy or not.  There are various such misconceptions followed by people. All this leads to major health disorders like obesity, diabetes, malnourishment, blood pressure, low immunity, weakness and much more. The studies have shown that adults at the age of 25 or 30 only gets heart attacks or diabetes. The obesity is accounted to 46% whereas malnourishment to 44% and that to at age of 12 to 15 years. It is very important to have a proper guidance regarding to diet & nutrition. It affects the overall mental & physical health of the child.

But, it is not kids that are responsible for their health completely. Parents play a very important role in nurturing kids with habits of lifestyle at early age itself. Adult’s way of living is massively imitated by their kids. As it is said, ‘charity begins at home’, so does initiation of healthy habits should be done by you for your kids to follow later. The old myth that home cooked is healthiest even if it is fast food like pizza or burger. If they are cooked at home then it is not harmful to your health, when in reality it is. The fast food prepared at home or outside, the ingredients used are still bread, cheese, butter, etc. which are considered to be healthy. If you observe the diet of today’s children around you, 70 to 80 % contains of this stuff only. But, did you know that it leads to cardiac disorders like high cholesterol, asthma, etc. Some parents even allow children to eat outside almost every evening. Some follow that unknown diet charts from online without seeking proper knowledge of it. There are various other unhealthy habits & misconceptions followed by parents without a proper guidance. This things also affects your kid’s and your health as well. It is very essential that proper lifestyle habits are practiced both by parents & kids which is beneficial to overall development as a family.

We can begin today a step to healthy way of living. There are some ways to make your kids eat that boring healthy food with their own hands. Firstly, you need to start modifying your lifestyle which is the most effective step as are their role model. Secondly, introduce them to colorful world of healthy food which will interest them to eat at least once. Do not directly change their whole diet. Add some healthy ingredients to their diet along with daily food like replace white rice with brown one. You can even prepare tasty dishes like sprouts chat instead of the regular one. Slowly replace your beverages with fruit juices. Reward them with small gifts or learning games when they finish that vegetable juice wherein you can squeeze a lemon & add honey instead of salt or sugar. Once, when they get habituated to taste, you can give them one with raw taste. Make healthy versions of fast food like for example replace pizza bread base with whole wheat bhakri & the toppings with tomato, capsicum & onion gravy with less oil & salt. Replace that unhealthy snack with nuts or fruit salads. Make that ritual of dinning out twice or thrice in a week to only weekends. This small changes will lead to huge effect on their health leading to healthier version of it.

Eating right kind of food will enhance the growth & development of your kid. The effective productivity of child’s health like strong immune system, less prone to diseases & health disorders, strong bones, muscle & teeth, good memory, enhancing natural radiant on skin, sound sleep, less cravings, etc. is what gain from nourishing your child right. It creates a better tomorrow for them.
